Flourish Together is celebrating Manchester Craft and Design Centre maker Valery Touchet, a changemaker from their current Time to Grow programme.
Originally from Cameroon, she is a Manchester based sustainable fashion designer dedicated to reusing, altering, and upcycling garments, giving them a new lease of life and keeping them out of landfill sites.
Throughout April, Valery ran a crowdfund which Flourish also supported and managed to raise over £1300 to help open her shop Valé et Oli with her friend Olive at the Centre.
The shop features up-cycled and recycled products and handmade, one-of-a-kind designs made from sustainably sourced materials. Valery also runs workshops, helping the community to understand more about sustainable fashion and how easy it is to upcycle. Sign up to our regular newsletter to find out more.
