Since 2011 we have been supporting new graduates by spotting and celebrating emerging talent at degree shows. In addition to presenting one MMU graduate with an Annual MMU Graduate Solo Exhibition Award, this year for the first time we awarded two Textiles and Surface Design graduates from the University of Bolton the opportunity to run a four day pop up show here at MCDC in September, alongside our Crafts Council Hothouse exhibition. We will also give them installation support and digital promotion, and a discounted place at our Creative Business Development workshop. Our two award winners are Charlotte Frith and Lauren Kelly.
Detailing in historical architecture inspires Charlotte Frith’s beautiful collection of printed interior textiles. The vibrant colour schemes and structural elements make this a striking contemporary collection.
Lauren Kelly’s charming sea life inspired interior collection combines print with hand embroidery techniques.
