Handbuilt contemporary ceramics exploring print, texture, colour and form.

Having graduated with a Masters degree in ceramic design at Staffordshire University I set up the studio in 2001 with Princess trust funding.

Originally specialising in slip casting, my practice evolved to incorporate slab building techniques to create sculptural vessels, ceramic art and tiles. Historically inspired both by the urban and rural landscape, my influences have grown organically to include embroidery, origami, poetry and Manchester City Football Club.

Alongside designing and making various collections I am developing new work influenced by political engagement and ambition for social and economic justice. This body of work looks to raise awareness and create dialogue around the need to foster and support progressive democratic independent media through the beauty of clay.
