BY Manchester Craft and Design Centre
01/11/13
Jessica Owen (northern scapes) will be exhibiting this month at Chester Art Fair from the 15th to the 17th of November. She’ll be taking her semi abstract and abstract Acrylic on Canvas paintings, along with Enamel and watercolour on ceramic works.
After the success of 2012’s Chester Arts Festival, the event has now been renamed Chester Arts Fair and returns showcasing world-renowned artists, including our very own Jessica Owen at Chester Race Course.
Northern scapes is a long lasting Craft and Design Centre tenant, enjoying over ten years of success in studio 16. She has exhibited in over 20 galleries world wide, many of which were solo exhibitions.
Jessica is well know for her wonderful landscapes of the Peak District and Lake District, where her moody atmospheric skies really provoke a feeling of the moment. The curator of the national portrait gallery bought a large landscape from her studio and spoke of Jessica’s skies being akin to that of William Turner no less. northern-scapes hang all over the world from New York to Hong Kong, commissions are welcomed and one notable commission was for the acclaimed actor John Hannah (four weddings and a funeral) who asked Jessica to produce a huge painting of the ‘big sur’ to hang in his Californian costal retreat.
New works are currently being created especially for the fair so stayed tuned and if you can’t make the Chester Arts Fair see her new work on www.northernscapes.co.uk or follow for updates and news @northernscapes.
