Manchester Craft & Design Centre's 2021 Showcase Award

We are delighted to welcome two talented graduates from The University of Bolton Textiles & Surface Design BA to exhibit work as part of our Pop-up Showcase Award 2021.
Each year we award talented graduates the opportunity to showcase and sell their innovative work here at the centre. The 2021 recipients of our Pop-up Exhibition and Shop award are Emese Barna and Denise Gouveia.
Join us on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th January to meet the designers and see their collections.
Emese Barna
Emese Barna’s mix of geometric shapes and natural illustrations were really striking. We particularly liked her plant-able cards inlaid with seeds. We loved that her in-depth research into the impact humans have on the environment translated into her final pieces.
Denise Gouveia
Denise Gouveia’s expert use of colour and understanding of design trends was immediately obvious in her graduate collection. We loved her creative use of both digital and hand screen printed fabrics to produce adaptable pieces.
