Northern Quarter pledges support for Mental Health Awareness Week 2014
Manchester Mind, the local mental health charity, has launched a competition in the Northern Quarter this May because no one should have to face a mental health problem alone…
Manchester Mind has rallied local cafes and delis to join the challenge by entering a staff team for Mental Health Awareness Week, which takes place from 12 -18 May. The NQ team who best promote mental health services and raise the largest donation will not only be supporting Manchester Mind, but also win a mystery prize…
Joanna Huddart of Manchester Mind said, “We’re delighted to have received so much support from local traders in the Northern Quarter. Up to 10 staff teams will actively promote our charity and encourage customer donations throughout the week. Every penny raised will make a huge difference to us and ensure our services continue to support some of the most vulnerable people in Manchester who are experiencing mental ill-health.”
Manchester Mind hope customers will support the campaign by visiting their favourite NQ cafe or deli during Mental Health Awareness Week and donating their change to the charity. The success of Mental Health Awareness Week will be down to the generosity of local organisations and individuals, so all support is welcomed.
Manchester Mind would also welcome one off donations and offers of further support, including volunteering and nominations as “charity of the year”.
