Marged Owain was one of the students from MMU we selected as part of SPOTTED 2017. Her work is based on Welsh culture and heritage, celebrating Welsh craftsmanship through combining blown glass, turned wood and thread.
At Manchester Craft & Design Centre we like to see what graduate makers are doing after finishing their courses. Here is what Marged will be up to over the next few months!
Marged will be exhibiting at New Designers Part 2 from the 3rd until the 8th of July as well as doing an internship at Daedalian Glass Studios where she will be working as a workshop assistant for a month.
She will also be exhibiting at the Bluecoat Display Centre in a shared exhibition called ‘Dish of the Day’ from the 22nd of July until the 26th of August.
She has been awarded a scholarship that will fund her to attend Pilchuck Glass School, near Seattle, Washington USA. And last but not least, she has been awarded the Graduate Showcase at the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair where she will be exhibiting from the 12th to the 15th of October of this year.
