Suzanne Devine’s contemporary leather bags and accessories are now available to purchase from our online shop.
Suzanne designs and makes unique handmade products in studio 9 here at Manchester Craft & Design Centre. Using high quality materials such as lambs leather and cow hide, she creates contemporary, simple, functional shapes for accessories and bags.
After completing her degree in Embroidery in 2003 at Manchester Metropolitan University, Suzanne has developed her skills as a maker and uses traditional embroidery techniques such as appliqué and hand stitch to enhance her designs, and a carefully chosen combination of colours to complement them.
Suzanne is drawn to detail and embellishment, and combines these to make functional items.
Her latest Handstitch range involves using antique Mother of Peal buckles which have been individually sourced to complement the leathers chosen and are finished off with intricate handstitch in traditional linen thread. A time consuming task but the finished result of each is unique and a classic design piece.
