JUST A CARD – Support Independent Makers & Shops this Christmas
BY Manchester Craft and Design Centre
25/11/15
“If everyone who’d complimented our beautiful gallery
had bought just a card we’d still be open.”
When Sarah Hamilton read this quote by shop keepers who’d recently closed their gallery she thought – enough is enough – we need to fight back! As an artist and designer, who also makes cards, Sarah knows just how valuable each and every sale is, not only to the independent shops and galleries which make our high streets unique, but to their artists and designer suppliers. Regrettably it’s too late for that gallery, but others need valuable support. That’s why Sarah started the JUST A CARD campaign – to encourage people to appreciate just how invaluable every single purchase is.
We’re giving our support to the campaign and you can help to spread the word that each sale keeps artists making and shops and galleries open by getting involved yourself.
