Hosted by Guardian Live at the Manchester International Festival, this unique two-day event of talks, provocation and inspiring thinking that takes place at a pivotal moment for Manchester.
Artists, innovators, scientists and creators from MIF and beyond will explore questions such as how do you define innovation? Can you teach creativity? What do great artists and scientists need to not just survive but flourish? How does culture empower communities?
The event will feature nearly 30 speakers including award-winning Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson; Turner Prize winner Jeremy Deller; British artist Ed Atkins; curator of London’s Serpentine Gallery Hans Ulrich Obrist; director of the African Artists’ Foundation Azu Nwagbogu; and artistic director of the Museum of Contemporary in Ghent Belgium, Philippe Van Cauteren.
