Fresh Talent: Spotted 2015

The team here at MCDC have been spotting talent at regional and national graduate shows since 2011, and have been awarding exhibitions to graduate for the last 10 years! We hand-pick makers who we think are the “ones to watch” in the world of contemporary craft & design. We then support, promote and publicise these superstar graduates here on our website for all to see and celebrate.

One very special ‘Spotted’ candidate is also awarded the ‘Annual MMU Graduate Solo Exhibition Award’ to a graduate from Manchester Metropolitan University whose work we feel is of considerable mention. They are then given the chance to exhibit their work here at MCDC plus receive on-going support and guidance from our team of expertise.

The 2014 winner was embroidery graduate Rosemary Grace Booth, whose stunning pinhole artwork show ‘Mesmerised’ will run here until 30th August. This year, this incredible opportunity was awarded to the very deserving Verity Howard, whose ceramic forms caught our eye straight away. We look forward to hosting her show here in the spring of 2015.
