Manchester After Hours takes place for one night only each year – an evening of unique collaborations and exceptional happenings in unusual spaces across Manchester.
This year we’ve joined forces with Bad Uncle to present a showcase of art, music and performance by practitioners based around the North West, inspired by the work of Alan Menken, the Oscar winning musical theatre and film composer.
We’re looking for artists, musicians and performers to respond to Menken’s work which includes the scores for Little Shop of Horrors, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Home on the Range, Enchanted, Tangled, Mirror Mirror, Newsies and Sausage Party.
We’re looking for pieces to display such as artwork, paintings, illustrations or costumes as well as performances of poems, songs or films inspired by his work, or even covers of songs from the films – the possibilities are endless!
If you’ve got a great idea and you’d like to part of the unique evening, send an email to Ben Pitman of Bad Uncle.
Deadline
Physical work will need to be completed w/c 15th May. Performances will need to be ready by 18th May. Manchester After Hours takes place on 18th May from 6-9pm.
